About This Event

What does Crown Hill Cemetery have to do with the sky? Beside the best view of the city skyline, Crown Hill has buried on the grounds Dr. Goethe Link, prominent Indianapolis surgeon and avid amateur astronomer. This program is in two parts: first we’ll discover the life of Dr. Link, the Link observatory, and Indiana Astronomical Society. After the short presentation, weather permitting, we’ll moved onto the cemetery grounds where members of the Indiana Astronomical Society will have telescopes to view the moon and other celestial objects (Indy is too bright for true star gazing). While you don’t need to bring your own telescope, attendees are welcome to bring their own. And, if you have questions how to operate it, so members of the Indiana Astronomical Society can assist and offer guidance.

Please dress COMFORTABLY for the weather and some walking. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be cancelled.

Minimum Age Requirement: 10 years old and over. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Please use address of 3402 Blvd. Place, Indpls, 46208 for directions through our Gothic Gate entrance at 34th Street.

Inside Gothic Chapel for speaker, move to outdoors for telescope moon gazing. 7PM-9PM
